What happened to the first half of 2010. We had a late start but racing is now underway. Welcome to the heaps of new riders this season. Numbers are starting to pick up again which is great to see.
The club members have been busy doing fund raisers to help Jake Tunney cover the costs of getting to the world championship in South Africa. We wish him the best on his adventure.
A huge thanks to the people that helped get the track up to the standard it is & the volunteers in the canteen. You are really appreciated.

Track repairs are under way. We actually made the track rideable three weeks ago but late season storms smashed that. A small dedicated crew sweated it out this weekend. Rain again stopped play for short while. Satellite City had their track rebuilt by the magician Geoff Cartwright from dirtztrackzntrailz & it is cool fun. They have gates on Monday arvo. Check their website for details. Jingili will not be starting up until May 23. Come & try on May 29. The Darwin calendar is in the button at the top called calendars. Congratulations to our resident kiwi Jake Tunney taking out the 12 boys NZ championship. May 5-9 are the Australian BMX Titles in Shepparton Victoria. Things are looking pretty good for the Jingili riders to shake it up & come back with some plates. Next working bee is May 15 & 16. See you then.

Welcome to 2010 BMXers. Wayne King has been doing a super job of looking after the track over the wet. The rain has done it's best to smash it but the soiltac (gorilla snot) has helped keep most of it together.
Several Jingili riders have been interstate hitting up the Nerang nationals on the gold coast, XBR series in Sydney & Trackattack in Melbourne. They all did very well. We are starting to plan the new season. Depends when the rain stops though. We will email out up dates. If you are craving pedaling action XcR is running cycling events on Friday night at the velodrome.

The season is officially over for 2009. What a year. A big thank you to the out going committee for the work you all did this year. The fundraising drive over the last few weeks has been awesome. We do still have some key positions on the 2010 committee that need to be filled so more info about that will be out soon. The kids & adults that attended the AGM & break up party had a great time. jI am sure the shops in Darwin wonder why they sell out of shaving cream this time year.
Some of our club members are planning a huge trip in January. Taking in Nerang, XBR series in Sydney & Track attack in Melbourne. Good luck crew & have fun.

Sorry about the delay updating the website. We got a bit busy. This is the completed track. There is still some of the finer details to be done but we have had our first race meet. It is a tough track. Parts of it are going to take a while to master. Overall the riders love it.
It took about 6 days. On the 7th day Geoff rested & took in some of the Darwin sights.
Jingili BMX Club would like to thank Geoff Cartwright & Brett Barnes for the excellent work they did. We would also like to thank Macmahons & Sage contracting for the extra 400 m3 of soil we required. Sherrian rentals, NT Hire & Coates Hire for the equipment we needed. Thank you also to the volunteers that worked out that a shovel or rake can be used for more than a fasionable accessory at working bees.
The rain has done it's best to undo our work. So far the soiltac treatment looks to be doing it's job. We have a couple of drainage issues but we will work on those.

In the words of a great aussie band "This is it folks, over the top" The major track change has begun. With plenty of blood, sweat, beers & Treasurer's tears we will end up with a track that is not as we knew it. We have secured the services of Dirtztraxntrailz to help move us into the new world track layout. Brett Barnes did mad design. Geoff is on the job turning it into reality. He is a pretty deadly operator. I have seen a few & he is up there with the best. The kids are excited but there is a long way to go. Got a couple of pics for you.

The World Championship for this year has been run & won. The track was tough & the competitors tougher as you would expect at a World Championship. The Jingili riders did a great job. We had several riders make it in the finals races. Huge effort. Well done the Greg Clift for getting two world plates in the 25-29 years class.
The first two rounds of the DustBustin race series have just been completed. Big nights. Over 170 nominations. Progresive scores are in the DustBustin button on the left.

There has been a revised racing calendar for the Darwin area. After much discussion it has now happened. Racing is on two days a week. Please read the new calendar. The venue for Friday night racing alternates between Satellite City & Jingili every two weeks.
We have 13 riders from Jingili heading to the world championships in Adelaide in July. We wish them the best of luck.

Congratulations to the Jingili riders that took on the rest of Australia at the Nationals in Perth. Well done to Greg Clift 3A 25-29yr 24" & 8A 20". Brooke Ellison 5A 17-24yr 24" & Talon Dobson 5A 12yr & under 24". We had several riders just miss a spot in the finals also. We have about 16 riders that quailify to race at the world BMX championships in Adelaide in July.
